The Pain Of Letting Go


Whoever said it was an easy thing to do?
Life is hard enough with its uncertain fears
especially those that bring about tears
Letting go of the nights you held me in your arms
Always wondering if you were mine to keep
Letting go of the sweet way you said I Love You
with the thought of holding you close to let you know
how much I cared
Letting go of the dreams we both held so close
now knowing the hard process
of letting go of the one you love most
Life’s not easy
It’s even harder knowing that you are no longer mine
Thinking of the future we planned and wondering why
it ended this way
I can’t believe we drifted apart
But I know I must let go for a brand new start
